How Reserving a Glatt Works

Glatt watches are sold by reservation, not off a shelf. That is unusual enough that it deserves a plain explanation rather than a line of small print.

The short version

A Glatt is $600. You pay $18 today to hold one. The remaining $582 is charged before your watch ships. The $18 is a deposit against the price, not a fee on top of it, so the total you pay is $600 either way.

Why not just take the $600

Because we would rather not hold your money for a year.

These are made in a limited run. Producing them means committing to cases, dials, straps and movements well before anyone can wear one, and the reservation is how we know how many to make. That part is genuinely useful to us. Taking the full $600 up front would also be useful to us, and considerably worse for you, so we do not.

What a reservation is

It is a claim on a specific piece from the run. It is not a waitlist, and it is not an expression of interest that we may or may not honour. When you reserve, that piece is spoken for.

It is also not in-stock inventory. Nothing is sitting in a warehouse waiting to be picked. If you want a watch that arrives this week, we are honestly not the right purchase.

Before it ships

We will email you before the balance is charged, not after. That email is also your moment to update your card or your shipping address, which matters more than it sounds like it does, because a lot can change between reserving and receiving.

Still deciding

The reservation terms, including how the deposit is treated if you change your mind, are set out in our policies. If something there is unclear, that is a fault in our writing rather than a subtlety you are supposed to catch, so tell us and we will fix it.
